The Lindsay Thurber Queer-Straight Alliance is dedicated to uniting students of all sexual and gender orientations.

Here are a few photos representing the Lindsay Thurber QSA:

Question box!

The QSA Question Box:  The QSA students came up with the idea of creating a question box for LTCHS because they wanted to give other students a forum where they could ask questions about topics that can be sensitive and often uncomfortable (like sexuality and gender identify).

The students believe there are often assumptions, misrepresentations and myths around things not well understood. The anonymity of the box allows us to respond to questions that people might not otherwise ask. The students also decorated the box with LBGQT symbols and flag colours to pique interest!

The Gender Identity Flags Poster: This poster created for display at school events to inform students and parents and staff about the QSA Alliance and the many forms that gender and sexual identity can take. Including all the different flags makes our group more inclusive to interested individuals.

Bulletin Board: This board in the hallway at Lindsay Thurber allows us the opportunity to provide information about the QSA and any upcoming events, post questions from the Question Box and showcase some of the things the QSA has done. The hands on the bulletin were made by staff and students of the QSA and  they represent inclusiveness, that despite our differences – we are all connected. The hands have positive messages about acceptable, courage, hope and peace.
